About me:
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). I have a Master of Arts ( M.A.) degree is in Counseling and Psychological Services from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) is from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
I provide therapeutic services to children, adolescents, families, couples and individuals with a variety of backgrounds. I have provided in-home counseling to individuals and worked with children and families in day treatment doing individual, couple and group therapy. I also provide group and individual therapy to individuals with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and multi-cultural counseling. I also speak Spanish and am familiar with a wide variety of cultures and issues.
My professional experience includes providing treatment for Anxiety, Anger, Depression, Marital Issues, Stress Management, Panic Attacks, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Acculturation Issues, Trauma, Post-Traumatic Stress, Multi-Cultural Issues, Assertiveness, Procrastination, Impulse Control, Emotion Regulation, Sexual Abuse, Family Conflict, Adolescent Issues, School Problems, Parenting Issues and Women's Issues.
My approach is practical, collaborative and results-oriented. She primarily uses Narrative Therapy when working with individuals, couples, and families. Narrative Therapy focuses on the problem and investigates possible solutions. She also incorporates elements of Internal Family Systems and/or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) when appropriate. Play Therapy is often used when working with children.
